1984 - EMS is founded.
Equipment Maintenance Services, Inc. (EMS) began with three employees on the payroll and annual sales revenues of $130,000. Our dream was clear. To be the leading company of our kind in all of the West. Our primary business was to serve the coal mining and power generation industries in Gillette, Wyoming.

  • Chrome & Cylinders - The hard chrome plating of cylindrical parts up to 40" diameter by 240" long with a maximum thickness of .030 chrome per side Cylindrical grinding of parts 31" diameter by 112" long. Tool post grinding of parts 48" diameter by .240" long.
  • Hydraulic Cylinders and Nitrogen Charged Suspensions.
  • Machine, Welding & On-Site Department - In house general machining and welding specializing in mining and electrical equipment. Manufacturing new or repair of existing components. On-site equipment supported with S service trucks specializing in mining equipment.
  • Electrical Rotating - The overhaul of all A.C. & D.C. electric motors , generators, alternators, traction motors, clutches, and gearboxes Rewind capabilities to 10,000 hp A.C. & all D.C. armatures. Field service for alignment1 balancing, removal/installation & troubleshooting.

Gillette Information

In 1911, Campbell County was created from portions of Weston and Crook counties, which join to the east. Gillette, the county seat and largest incorporated city in Campbell County, was named for Edward Gillette, who was a surveyor and engineer for the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. The town was founded in 1891 during the railroad construction period. Wright, Wyoming, Campbell County's newest town, was incorporated in January, 1985. Wright is located in southern Campbell County at the intersection of State Hwy. 59 South and State Hwy. 387 West. Campbell County is located on broad, gently-rolling plains in northeastern Wyoming, midway between the Black Hills of South Dakota to the east and the BigHorn Mountains to the west. Gillette's elevation is 4,550 feet. Wright's elevation is 5,000 feet.
